Will Program Red help my pet?

Filed under: flea control,Lufenuron,pet flea medication,program red,Uncategorized — robertprice @ 11:33 am

Program Red (Lufenuron) is an oral tablet for flea control. Dogs, puppies, cats and kittens 4 weeks of age and older, can easily get fleas. Program Red works by killing adult fleas and is indicated for the treatment of flea infestations on dogs, puppies, cats and kittens. It is stored in the animal body fat, and when adult fleas bite, the medication is transferred to the flea, which then transfers by blood or by feeding to their eggs to prevent flea eggs and larvae from developing. This breaks the flea life cycle at its base, and effectively terminates the flea population.

How does my pet take it:

To give Program Red tablets, place the pill directly in your pet’s mouth or hide it in food. If you hide the pill in food, watch closely to make sure your pet swallows the pill. If you are not sure that your pet swallowed the pill, it is safe to give a second pill. It is recommended to hide the pill in your pets food to increase absorption. A single dose of Program Red should kill the adult fleas of your pet. If your pet gets re-infested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day. Overdose or toxicity is very unlikely.

What are the side effects?

The side effects listed below are rare.

  • Lack of appetite
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Lethargy
  • Itching
  • Breathing difficulty
  • Reddened skin

Other Information:
