Description

Indications

Azelaic acid cream is employed to address the pimples and swelling associated with acne. Azelaic acid belongs to the class of medications known as dicarboxylic acids. It operates to treat rosacea by reducing the swelling and redness of the skin.

In the case of acne, it works by eliminating the bacteria that infect pores and by reducing the production of keratin, a natural substance that can contribute to the development of acne.

Uses and Dosage

Azelaic acid is available in the form of a gel, foam, and cream for application to the skin. Typically, it is applied twice a day, in the morning and evening. To ensure consistent use, apply azelaic acid at approximately the same times each day.

Use azelaic acid precisely as directed, avoiding excess application or more frequent use than prescribed by your doctor.

Exercise caution to prevent azelaic acid from coming into contact with your eyes or mouth. In case of accidental exposure to the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and contact your doctor if irritation persists.

Note that azelaic acid foam is flammable. Avoid open fire, flames, and refrain from smoking while applying azelaic acid foam and for a short period afterward.
