Uses and Dosage
When using mupirocin, follow your doctor’s instructions precisely, typically applying it twice daily—once in the morning and once in the evening.
Administer half of the ointment from the tube into one nostril and the remaining half into the other. Gently compress and release your nostrils together for about a minute to distribute the ointment within your nose. Discard the tube after application to both nostrils and refrain from reusing it.
Maintaining consistent levels of antibiotics in your body is crucial for their efficacy. Use this medication at regular intervals as directed.
It’s essential to complete the full prescribed course of treatment. Discontinuing the medication prematurely may allow bacteria to persist.
Avoid contact between mupirocin and your eyes. In case of accidental eye exposure, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
The manufacturer advises against combining this medication with other nasal products.
