Indications
Crisaborole is indicated for the treatment of eczema, a dermatological condition characterized by dry, pruritic skin and the formation of red, scaly rashes. This medication is suitable for use in adults as well as children aged 3 years and above. Belonging to the class of phosphodiesterase inhibitors, crisaborole exerts its therapeutic effect by impeding the activity of specific natural substances responsible for inducing inflammation within the body.
Uses and Dosage
This medication is intended for topical use only and should not come into contact with the eyes, mouth, or vagina. In the event of accidental exposure, promptly rinse the affected area with an ample amount of water.
Before applying the medication, thoroughly wash and dry your hands. Subsequently, cleanse and dry the affected area. Follow your doctor’s instructions and gently massage a thin layer of the medication onto the affected area, usually applying it twice daily.
After the application, wash and dry your hands, unless the medication is specifically being used to treat the hands.
Consistent and regular use of this medication is essential in order to obtain optimal benefits. To assist with adherence, apply the medication at the same times each day.
If your condition persists or worsens, inform your doctor.
Side Effects

- burning or stinging on the area of skin where the ointment was applied
