Drug Description:
This medicine is used to lower fluid pressure within the eye. It is usually used only for a short time and with other medications.Store between 36 and 80 degrees F. Protect from light. Do not freeze.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. This medicine is for use in the eyes only. Use exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not wear soft contact lenses during treatment. Do not touch dropper tip to any surface as this may contaminate the contents. This medicine may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Lab tests will be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Contact your doctor at once if any of the following occur: Pooling of blood in the eye; itching; discomfort; tearing; foreign body sensation; swelling of the lids. Avoid alcohol and other medicines that cause drowsiness while you are taking this medicine. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your doctor. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine or to similar medicines you are currently taking or have taken monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors within the last 14 daysBefore using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicineWatch for drowsiness or dizziness that may interfere with hazardous activities or driving while using this medicine. Be careful not to touch the tip of the dispensing container onto the eye, or any other surface. Serious eye infections can result from contamination of this medicine.Most severe:ÿ Pooling of blood in the eye.Most common:ÿ Dizziness; drowsiness; itching; discomfort; tearing; foreign body sensation; swelling of the lids; blurred vision; dry eye; eye inflammation; discharge; blanching; headache; dry mouth; dry nose; changes in taste; weakness.Other:ÿ Constipation; chest pain; clumsiness; general body discomfort; nervousness; depression; sleeplessness; abnormal skin sensations; sore throat; asthma; skin inflammation; distorted sense of smell.
