Drug Description:

This medicine is used to manage high blood pressure, chest pain and other heart problems.Store caplets between 59 to 77 degrees F. Protect from light and moisture.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Swallow caplets whole. Do not crush, chew, or split caplets Take with food. Patients being treated for high blood pressure often feel tired or rundown for a few weeks after starting this medication. Continue to take your medication even though you may not feel quite “”normal.”” Contact your health care provider or pharmacist about any new symptoms. Dizziness or lightheadedness can occur when rising too quickly form a seated or lying position. If this occurs, sit or lie down and avoid sudden changes in posture. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination or physical dexterity. Lab tests may be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not stop taking this medication without checking with your doctor. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medicines without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If you experience dizziness or light-headedness, notify your doctor.Most severe:  Chest pain, low blood pressure, nausea, rash, shortness of breath, slow heartbeat, upper respiratory infectionMost common:  Constipation; dizziness; nausea; headache, blurred vision, breast development in males, bruising, chest pain, confusion, diarrhea, difficulty sleeping, drowsiness, dry mouth, excessive milk secretion, fainting, fatigue, fever and rash, flushing, hair loss, heart attack, hives, impotence, increased urination, indigestion, intestinal blockage, joint pain, light-headedness upon standing up, limping, loss of balance, muscle cramps, pounding heartbeat, rash, ringing in the ears, shakiness, skin peeling, sleepiness, spotty menstruation, sweating, tingling or pins and needles, upset stomach.Other:  General body discomfort; fever; swelling; fatigue; difficulty breathing; rash; flushing.
