Drug Description:

This medicine is used to treat acute migraine headache with or without aura (flashing lights, wavy lines, dark spots) in adults. It should not be used to prevent migraines or cluster headaches.Store at room temperature (between 59 and 86 degrees F). Keep in the blister with the outer aluminum pouch until ready to use.How much medicine you take and how often it is taken depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with this medicine and reread it each time you get this prescription refilled. Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your health care provider. This medicine is intended for the relief of acute migraine attacks. It does not prevent or reduce the number of attacks. Use this medicine only for acute migraine attacks. It is not necessary to take this medicine with liquid. These Tablet are packaged in a blister with an outer aluminum pouch. Do not remove the blister from the outer pouch until you are ready to take this medicine. Peel the blister pack open with dry hands and place the tablet on your tongue. The tablet will dissolve and it can be swallowed with saliva. Take a single dose of this medicine as soon as migraine symptoms appear. A second dose may be taken if there is only a partial response or symptoms of the migraine return. However, do not take it sooner than 2 hours following the first dose. Do not take more than 30 mg in a 24-hour period. Contact your health care provider at once if pain, tightness, heaviness, or pressure in the chest, throat, neck or jaw occurs. The safety for treating an average of more than 4 headaches in a 30-day period has not been established. Diabetes patients — This medicine may affect your blood sugar level. Your doctor may need to change the dose of diabetes medicine you are taking. This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Do not take this medicine if you are currently taking or have taken an MAO inhibitor within the last 2 weeks. If you are uncertain whether any of your other medicines contain an MAO inhibitor, check with your health care provider. Patients with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Contact your health care provider at once if you feel you have taken too much of this medicine. Do not take any over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised to by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider.Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine you have a history of heart disease or heart attack you have had a stroke or chest pain you have uncontrolled high blood pressure you have other types of migraine headaches (hemiplegic, basilar, or cluster headaches) you have used ergot-containing medications or another medication similar to this medicine within 24 hours you are currently taking or have taken a monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor within the last 14 daysBefore using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription medicine (especially propranolol), or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement if you have a family history of heart disease or heart problems if you have high blo
