Drug Description:

This medicine is used in addition to a complete skin care program by your doctor to reduce fine wrinkles. Doctors occasionally may prescribe it for other reasons.Store at or below 77 degrees F.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. This medicine is for external use only on the face. This medicine should only be used in addition to a comprehensive skin care and sunlight avoidance program prepared by your doctor. Keep this medicine away from the eyes, mouth, nose, and mucous membranes. Wash affected areas with a mild cleanser and dry skin gently. Wait 20 to 30 minutes to make sure that skin is completely dry. Squeeze a small amount (quarter inch or less) of the medicine onto the fingertip. This should be enough to cover the entire affected area. Wash hands at once after use. In the morning, apply a moisturizing sunscreen. Upon application of this medicine, there may a feeling of warmth and slight stinging of the skin. It may take up to 6 months to see changes in facial skin. If you experience allergic reactions, chemical irritation, or systemic side effects to this medicine, stop using this medicine and contact your doctor. This medicine may cause sensitivity to sunlight and other forms of UV light (such as tanning beds). Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing over treated areas. This medicine may cause an unusual sensitivity to wind and cold. Do not use this medicine if you are taking other medicines that are known to cause sensitivity to light. If you are not sure if the other medicines you are taking cause sensitivity to light, talk with your doctor. Do not use other acne medications or strong soaps while using this medicine. Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Do not use this medicine if you have sunburn, eczema, or other facial skin conditions. Do not use this medicine if you are naturally sensitive to sunlight. Remove all cosmetics with a mild soap before applying this medicine. Do not take more medicine than is prescribed. Taking more medicine than prescribed may cause serious redness, peeling, or discomfort of the skin. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medication. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor.
