Drug Description:

This medicine decreases excess water in the body and increases urine flow and is also used for the treatment of high blood pressure. This medicine may be used in combination with other high blood pressure medications.Store between 59 to 86 degrees F. Ask about foods high in potassium. Diabetic patients may experience loss of glucose control. Closely watch blood sugar levels. Dizziness or lightheadedness may occur if you stand up too fast from lying or sitting while taking this medicine. Get up slowly, and call your health care provider. Sensitivity to sunlight may occur while taking this medicine. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing until tolerance is determined. Lab tests may be required while taking this medicine. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your doctor. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than is prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider.
