Drug Description:
This medicine is used for children to temporarily reduce fever and to relieve minor aches and pains caused by the common cold, flu, headaches, and toothaches. This medicine is also used to treat jeuvenile arthritis.Store suspension at 59 to 86 degrees F. Protect from high humidity and temperatures above 104 degrees F.How much medicine your child takes and how often they take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine your child is taking, talk with your health care provider. Shake well before using. Use the chart on the bottle to give the correct amount of medicine to your child. Only use the enclosed measuring dropper. Fill to the prescribed level and give the medicine to the child in the mouth towards the inner cheek. Do not give aspirin to your child. If stomach upset occurs, have the child take with food or milk. If stomach upset persists or worsens, talk with your health care provider. If a serious allergic reaction such as wheezing, hives, facial swelling , asthma, shortness of breath, fast irregular heartbeat, or changing color of the skin occurs, talk with your health care provider. If your child does not get any relief within the first 24 hours of taking this medicine, talk with your health care provider. If redness or swelling occurs, talk with your health care provider. If sore throat is severe, lasts for more than 2 days, or occurs with fever, headache, rash, nausea, or if vomiting or new symptoms develop, talk with your health care provider. Do not use this medicine for fever or pain for more than 3 days. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your health care provider. Do not use this medicine for stomach pain or if the child is dehydrated. This medicine may cause sensitivity to sunlight. Do not expose yourself for long period of time to the sun. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing until tolerance is determined. Do not take more medicine than is prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor.
