Indications
This medication is employed to address a range of skin conditions, including eczema and seborrheic dermatitis. Clobetasone functions as a medium-strength anti-inflammatory corticosteroid. It works by diminishing swelling, alleviating itching, and reducing redness associated with these skin conditions.
Uses and Dosage
This medication is designed for topical use only and should not be applied to the face, groin, or underarms unless specifically instructed by your doctor.
Before application, ensure your hands are clean. Follow the directed instructions to clean and dry the affected area.
Apply a small amount of the medication in a thin layer on the skin, gently rubbing it in 2 to 3 times daily or as per your doctor’s instructions. After use, wash your hands unless you are treating the hands.
Avoid bandaging, covering, or wrapping the treated area unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
Adhere to the recommended dosage and duration of use. Refrain from using excessive amounts or applying the medication more frequently or for a longer duration than advised. Using larger quantities or prolonging use may enhance the absorption of the medication into your bloodstream, increasing the risk of side effects. Consult your doctor if you need guidance on minimizing this risk, especially when treating large areas of the body. Adults should not exceed 100 grams of this medication per week unless directed by their doctor.
Take precautions to prevent the medication from coming into contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental contact occurs, wipe off the medication and rinse thoroughly with water. Exercise caution when using this medication near the eyes, as it may exacerbate or cause increased pressure in the eyes (glaucoma). Seek additional information from your doctor.
If your condition does not improve after one week of use, inform your doctor.
Side Effects
Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention:

- acne
- extreme/unwanted hair growth
- small red bumps on the skin
Inform your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any serious side effects:
- unusual/extreme tiredness
- weight loss
- headache
- swelling ankles/feet
- increased thirst/urination
- vision problems
- rash
- itching/swelling
- severe dizziness
- trouble breathing
Caution
- Before using clobetasone, inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have any allergies to clobetasone or other corticosteroids, or if you have any other allergies. Inactive ingredients in the product may also cause allergic reactions or other issues.
- Discuss your medical history with your doctor or pharmacist, especially if you have a history of skin infections, poor blood circulation, or a weakened immune system.
- In rare cases, using corticosteroid medications for an extended period or over large areas of skin can potentially make it more challenging for your body to respond to physical stress. Before undergoing surgery or emergency treatment or if you experience a serious illness or injury, inform your doctor or dentist that you are using this medication or have used it within the past few months.
- Although unlikely, prolonged use of this medication may temporarily slow down a child’s growth. Regular check-ups with the doctor are recommended to monitor the child’s height.
- During pregnancy, use this medication only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
- It is unclear whether this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Can I use Eumovate Cream with another topical steroid?
Don’t use multiple steroid topical products at once without speaking to your provider. Using too much Eumovate Cream can cause you to absorb more of the medication, which can lead to serious skin issues
How long can I use Eumovate Cream?
Ask your provider how long you should continue treatment with clobetasol. The length of treatment can differ depending on what form of clobetasol you’re using and your condition.
