Drug Description:
This medicine is used to lower blood pressure in adults. It may be used in combination with other medicines, including water pills. Doctors may prescribe it for other reasons.Store between 36 and 86 degrees F. Protect from moisture.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. This medicine may be taken with or without food, but should be taken the same day each time. It is usually taken twice a day. This medicine may cause dizziness or fainting, especially when rising or standing. If these symptoms should occur, sit or lie down and contact your health care provider. Use caution when driving or performing hazardous tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Contact your health care provider if any of the following occurs: Difficulty breathing, chest pain, swelling of the lower legs, itching, dark urine, loss of appetite, stomach pain, flu-like symptoms, yellowing of skin or eyes. Lab tests will be required. Be sure to keep appointments. Scalp tingling may occur, especially at the start of taking this medicine. Diabetic patients – This medicine can hide signs of low blood sugar levels. Your health care provider may need to change your dose of diabetes medicine while you are taking this medicine. Patients with previous conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your health care provider. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient of this medicine you have asthma you have certain heart diseasesBefore using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical conditions if you will be undergoing major surgeryPatients with angina should be warned against abrupt discontinuation of this medicine. There have been reports of severe exacerbation of angina, and of myocardial infarction or ventricular arrhythmias occurring in patients with angina pectoris, following abrupt discontinuation of treatment with this medicine.Most severe:ÿ Severe allergic reaction (rash; giant hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of the mouth, face, tongue, and lips).Most common:ÿ Tiredness; upset stomach; dizziness; nasal stuffiness. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, especially if you are taking it for heart disease.Other: Blurring of vision, epistaxis, severe bradycardia, jaundice
