Well considering that just a little while ago many Americans bought into the scare that President Obama was trying to create a Canadian style health care system, then this recent news is probably going to be a real shocker in the States. Canadian health care is better. Now every American who bought into the “Canadian Health scare” will probably argue and say, “there’s no way Canada has better health care, our politicians told us it was evil.” Well for those that have that opinion I have some points of mine I would like to share.
Point number one, politicians lie. Yes they lie deal with it, but they also screw up when they’re talking about Canada’s health care. It’s not as bad as you were led to believe. In fact it’s better then the current American health care which scored the LOWEST amongst developed countries. Is it just me here or could the President actually be right? Gasp!
Point number two, America needs to get over itself. Yes, I said it. Americans aren’t the best at everything, it’s a very harsh reality, but it’s true. Sure there are some things America does better then anyone else, but health care is not one of them. Take a look around, maybe towards Japan who took first place amongst developed countries. Yes, Japan is good for more than just Nintendo, cute Asian women, and awesome mech robots that I really hope exist.
Point number three, change isn’t always a bad thing. Change is a natural part of life. It happens and it definitely needs to happen in America. When you score a ‘D’ and rank last place you know somethings wrong. Sometimes we tend to become so greedy and self-centered we forget about everyone else. There are too many Americans that are without health care, or are paying way too much for needed services.
Before you start criticizing other health care systems make sure they’re worse then your own, get the facts, the real facts not by one women who panicked and rushed for American care even though she wouldn’t have died. It’s easy to use scare tactics, in fact many dictators used them from Hitler to Stalin all the way back to medieval times. All I ask is get some sort of real information. Spend some time really looking up what these politicians are talking about, if you still don’t think the system needs a fix then you keep believing that, but just take some time to look at what’s going on around you.
