Body functions and body parts are much more interesting and complex than they are thought to be.

Tears – Tears are not only made up of water. They also have proteins, and antibodies, and other antiviral substances. Drinking a glass of tears is much healthier than drinking a glass of water. In the average person’s life each eye will produce 70 gallons of tears.

Snoring – Snoring usually occurs due to being overweight, smoking, and consuming alcohol. Having allergies can also cause snoring. Snoring can be soft (50 dB – the sound level of a quiet street) or loud (100 dB – the sound level of a diesel truck). For 70 percent of snorers, they have a hereditary link which may be the cause or contribute to their snoring. Children who snore may have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Eyes – Babies are color blind when they are born. This lasts a few months before their eyes begin to adjust to color. Our eyebrows are there to prevent sweat from entering our eyes. Human eyes can tell apart 500 different shades of the gray.

The Mouth – The tongue is the strongest and most flexible muscle in the body. Everyone has their own one of a kind tongue print (just like fingerprints). A human’s mouth has more bacteria than a dog’s mouth. The tongue heals faster than any other part of the body. In a person’s average lifetime their mouth produces enough saliva to fill two swimming pools (25, 000 quarts).

Sneezing – Sneezes can travel up to 100 km per hour. Sneezes can be caused by many different things. Dust, allergies, mold, smoke, and sexual arousal are said to cause sneezing. In other countries sneezes are thought to be a sign of healthiness (in India), or thought to mean that someone is being talked about behind their back (Japan).
