Description

Indications

The combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide is employed for the management of elevated blood pressure. Lisinopril belongs to the class of medications known as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It operates by reducing specific chemicals that constrict blood vessels, thereby facilitating smoother blood flow. Hydrochlorothiazide falls under the category of diuretics, commonly referred to as ‘water pills.’ This medication functions by prompting the kidneys to eliminate surplus water and salt from the body, expelling them through urine.

Uses and Dosage

The combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide is presented in tablet form for oral consumption. It is typically ingested once daily, with or without food. To ensure consistent adherence, take lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide at approximately the same time each day.

Adhere to the prescribed dosage of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide precisely. Do not alter the dosage, take more or less than instructed, or exceed the frequency directed by your healthcare professional.

While lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide effectively controls high blood pressure, it does not offer a cure. Even if you feel well, continue taking lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide as prescribed. Do not discontinue usage without consulting your doctor.
