Uses and Dosage

Clobetasol topical is available in various forms, including cream, gel, ointment, lotion, foam, and spray for skin application, as well as foam, spray, solution (liquid), and shampoo for scalp use. Typically, clobetasol cream, gel, ointment, lotion, foam, solution (liquid), and spray are applied twice daily, while clobetasol shampoo is used once a day.

Adhere to the prescribed usage, avoiding overapplication or more frequent use than advised by your doctor. Refrain from applying it to areas outside the specified treatment zone or using it for other skin conditions unless directed otherwise.

Expect improvement in your skin condition within the initial two weeks of treatment. If your symptoms persist, contact your doctor.

For topical application, apply a small amount of cream, ointment, gel, lotion, foam, or spray to cover the affected skin area with a thin, even film, gently rubbing it in.

When applying the foam, spray, or solution (liquid) to the scalp, part your hair, apply the medicine, and rub it in. Avoid washing or rubbing the treated area until the product dries.

Clobetasol foam is flammable. Stay away from open flames, fire, and do not smoke during application and shortly afterward.

This medication is strictly for skin use. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and refrain from swallowing it. Do not use it in genital and rectal areas or in skin creases and armpits unless directed by your doctor.

Avoid applying other skin preparations or products without consulting your doctor, and do not bandage the treated area unless advised otherwise.

After applying clobetasol topical, remember to wash your hands.

Side Effects

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention:

• acne
• tiny red bumps or rash around the mouth
• small white or red bumps on the skin
• bruising or shiny skin
