Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sister of former President John F. Kennedy, died at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, at the age of 88.

Shriver came from a male-dominated political family that witnessed much more than its fair share of tragedy. However, through this tragedy and adversity hope was still able to find its way out. Shriver lived through the assassinations of her brothers, but never hated the world. She instead looked to better it. She often found inspiration from her sister Rosemary, who was rumored to have been mildly retarded.

The world has witnessed the loss of another Kennedy, and the loss will surely be noticed.
