Drug Description:

This medicine is for the treatment of various forms of mild to moderate ulcerative inflammation of the colon such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s Disease.Store between 59 to 86 degrees F. Protect from light and moisture. Do not freeze..How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount andperor frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Take this medicine twice daily. For best results, retain the suppository for at least 1 to 3 hours or longer. Remove suppository from strip and hold upright. Be sure to carefully remove suppository from foil wrapper. Do not handle the suppository too much. This will cause the suppository to melt before it can be inserted. Insert the suppository completely into the rectum with gentle pressure, pointed end first. The effects of this medicine may be seen within 3 to 21 days. However, the normal length of time to take this medicine is 3 to 6 weeks depending on the symptoms and test results. This medicine may cause an acute intolerance syndrome. Notify your health care provider if you have any cramping, stomach pain, bloody diarrhea, fever, headache, or rash. Notify your health care provider at once if you experience chest pain or difficulty breathing. This medicine may cause dizziness. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. This medicine will cause staining of most direct contact surfaces, including but not limited to fabrics, painted surfaces, flooring, marble, granite, vinyl, and enamel. Be sure to choose a good location for the taking of this medicine. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than is prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider.
