Drug Description:

This medicine is used in patients 17 years of age and older to treat ringworm, athlete’s foot, and jock itch caused by certain fungi.Store between 36 and 86 degrees F in a cool, dry place. Protect from direct heat and moisture. .How much medicine you use and how often you use it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are using, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with this medicine and reread it each time you get this prescription refilled. Use this medicine exactly as prescribed by your health care provider. It is only to be used for the condition for which it is prescribed. This medicine is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and within the vagina. Do not use other medications containing corticosteriods without talking with your health care provider. If you are uncertain whether your other medications contain corticosteroids, check with your health care provider. Apply this medicine twice a day for 2 weeks for jock itch or ringworm or 4 weeks for athlete’s foot or as directed by your health care provider. Talk with your health care provider if you see no improvement after 1 week of treatment for jock itch or ringworm or after 2 weeks for athlete’s foot. The use of this medicine for more than 4 weeks is not recommended. Use this medicine only for 2 weeks if this medicine is used in the groin area unless otherwise directed by your health care provider. Apply in the groin area sparingly. Wear loose-fitting clothing while using this medicine. Contact your health care provider if your condition persists after 2 weeks of using this medicine. Do not cover or bandage the treated area. Avoid sources of infection or reinfection. Contact your health care provider at once if irritation or any other side effects occur while you are using this medicine. Use this medicine for the prescribed treatment time, even if symptoms have improved. Failure to use all of this medicine may prevent complete elimination, allowing the infection to return. This medicine is not recommended for use by patients under 17 years of age or patients with diaper rash. Lab tests may be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before using this medicine. Do not stop using this medicine without checking with your doctor. Do not use more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Contact your health care provider at once if you feel you have used too much of this medicine. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine or to similar medications you are allergic to other topical corticosteroidsBefore using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement if you have any other medical condition you have viral or bacterial skin infectionThis medicine should not be used with occlusive dressings.
