Drug Description:

This medicine is used in patients over 6 years of age with reversible obstructive airway disease (asthma) to make breathing easier by widening the breathing passages of the lungs.Store in a dry place between 36 and 86 degrees F. Replace cap securely after each opening. Keep in the original packaging until ready for use.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. To prevent exercise-induced asthma, take this medicine 15 minutes before exercising. Do not remove the Capsule from the original packaging until you are ready to use it. Handle the Capsule gently to avoid breaking them. Follow the package instructions very carefully. Remove the Rotahaler device from its container and check to make sure it is clean and dry. Check the mouthpiece to make sure there are no hidden foreign objects. Keeping the Rotahaler device in an upright position, hold the darker colored end in one hand and turn the lighter colored end as far as it will go in either direction. Take the capsule and place the clear (thinner) end into the raised octagonal hole located in the lighter colored end of the device. This will force the previously used capsule shell into the chamber. Push the new capsule in until it is level with the top of the hole. Hold the Rotahaler level in a horizontal position with the white dot uppermost. Turn the lighter colored end (the end where the capsule was inserted) as far as it will go in the opposite direction. This will open the capsule. Keep the Rotahaler device level and breathe out fully. Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and lips. Do not insert beyond the teeth. Firmly hold the Rotahaler device on the dark blue position to avoid accidentally inhaling. Breathe in through your mouth as quickly and deeply as possible. Holding your breath briefly, remove the Rotahaler device from your mouth and breathe out. After each use, pull the two halves of the Rotahaler device apart and throw away the loose Capsule shells. Reassemble the Rotahaler device and place it into its container. Wash the Rotahaler device once every 2 weeks in warm water. Make sure that any empty capsule shell is removed before washing. Dry the Rotahaler completely before putting it back together. If your asthma attack continues or worsens, stop using this medicine and contact your doctor. If your usual dose fails to provide the usual relief or if you need to take it more often, consult your doctor at once. This may be a sign of seriously worsening asthma, which may require changing your medication. This medicine may cause dizziness. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Stop taking MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants at least 14 days before taking this medicine. If you are uncertain whether your other medications contain an MAO inhibitor or a tricyclic antidepressant, check with your health care provider. Do not stop taking this medication without checking with your doctor. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with previous conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medication. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine if you have cardiac arrhythmiasBefore using this medicine, tel
