Description

Drug Description:

This medicine is used to treat increased pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma and high intra-ocular pressure.Refrigerate unopened bottle at 36 to 46 degrees F. Protect from light. Once opened, the solution may be stored at room temperature (up to 77 degrees F) for 6 weeks.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. You may slowly develop an increased brown coloring of the treated eye, which may not be noticeable for a few months to years. Further brown coloring of the eye appears to stop upon discontinuation of the medicine. However, these changes may be permanent. This medicine may gradually change your eyelashes in increased length, thickness, color, and number of eyelashes. These changes may be permanent. If you receive this medication in only one eye, please be aware of the differences in eye coloring, eyelashes, and eyelid coloring between the treated and untreated eye. Do not wear contact lenses while applying this medication. Lenses may be reinserted 15 minutes after using this medication. If you are using any other medication that is applied to the eye, wait at least 5 minutes before using. Do not touch the tip of the medication applicator to the eye or surrounding eye area. This could cause bacterial contamination of the tip as well as serious damage to the eye and possible loss of vision. If you have any other eye condition or eye surgery, talk with your doctor about the continued use of this medication. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your doctor. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medicines without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicineBefore using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you wear contact lenses if you have any other medical conditionThis medicine may gradually change eye color, increasing the amount of brown pigment in the irisMost severe: Blurred vision, burning and stinging, conjunctival hyperemia, foreign body sensation, itching, increased iris pigmentation and punctate epithelial keratopathy.Most common:  Eyelash changes (increased length, thickness, color, and number of eyelashes); eyelid skin darkening; inner eye inflammation; eye color changes; blurred vision; excess blood in the eye; burning; stinging; sensation of something in the eye; itching.Other: Pain in muscle/joint/back, chest pain/angina pectoris and rash/allergic skin reaction.

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine

Severe Side Effects:

Most severe: Blurred vision, burning and stinging, conjunctival hyperemia, foreign body sensation, itching, increased iris pigmentation and punctate epithelial keratopathy.
